Miguel Fernandez - Singer and Palmas

 

Miguel Fernández Arnau, born on August 14, 1976 in Barcelona, immersed from his childhood in flamenco, starts singing at the age 10. His Flamenco roots come from his father's side with singer Jose Cortes family "Pansequito".

 

At 13 he won the Festival de Cante por Fandangos of the Cadiz house in Barcelona, and a year later wins the first contest of song for Alegrias in the House of Andalucia (BCN)

 

He began his artistic career at age16 as part of the group "Son Como Son", performing concerts throughout Spain.

 

He gives lectures at various Catalan universities Flamenco with Dr. Jose Calleja Padlock

 

Takes part in the tribute to Jose Monge (Shrimp), held in the La Mina (Barcelona).

His first contribution to the recording world as a singer, is done with the "Sabor de Gracia" with the àlbum “El Mundo Baila,( K industria)” 2004.

Joins the Festival de cante de Manlleu (El Candil), was a finalist in two editions.

 

Produces with Sabor de Gracia, the documentary film ”El Gran Gato“ with film director Ventura Pons 2002.

 

Performs In the 2012 European Tour with singer Mayito Rivera of "Van Van" and the group Son Como Son, as one of the soloists.

 

He subsequently collaborated on various albums: Desembre Congelat (Pau Riba), Flamenca (Ginesa Ortega), Barcelona (Sam Lander), Las Reinas del Matute (Las Migas), Patriarcas de la rumba, Blas Cordoba, Flamencos en Catalunia vol.2 .

 

Continuing his career as a singer in various groups: De Cajón, Son Como Son, Son de Tacón, Babel and Oleando (flamenco jazz).
